Most Liberals voted against a Bloc motion calling for the government to give a royal recommendation to a bill that would increase pensions for seniors under age 75 by 10 per cent.

The Bloc Quebecois, which holds the third-most seats in Canada's legislature, said its future support of the minority Liberal government is conditional on Trudeau pushing through measures, by Oct. 29, that improve pension benefits and protect certain agricultural sectors from trade treaties.
