Iowa State’s national football brand exploded during Campbell’s tenure. The Cyclones reached a bowl game in six of the past seven seasons, including the 2020 Fiesta Bowl where they beat Oregon 34-17.

With the next win, Campbell will pass the great Dan McCarney on the wins list. McCarney was the head coach for Iowa State from 1995-2006 and won 56 games during his tenure in Ames. KCCI's Jeff Dubrof spoke with Campbell and his players about what the accomplishment would mean and what McCarney has meant to the university.
