The New York Yankees will open their 2024 Major League Baseball postseason in the American League Divisional Round against the winner of the Baltimore Orioles-Kansas City Royals Wild Card series.

And the Yankees are peaking at the right time to make this October one to remember. After beating Baltimore 10-1 in the final game of the series, New York clinched the AL East, guaranteeing it a top spot heading into the playoffs. As one of the top teams in the MLB right now, the Yankees could use the confidence booster.

Given that the Yankees are currently three games ahead of the Baltimore Orioles in the AL East with 12 games to go for both teams, the Yankees would need at least nine wins/Orioles' losses in order to finish the regular season with the same record as Baltimore. However, in that scenario, it is very likely that Baltimore would hold the tiebreaker.
