The Rangers on Friday announced a multiyear contract extension for Young and his promotion to President of Baseball Operations.

With payroll likely to drop and a plethora of holes to fill on the roster, the Rangers will have their work cut out for them this winter.

When the Texas Rangers signed Nathan Eovaldi to a two-year, $34 million contract, there was also the inclusion of a $20 million vesting option for a third season. The option vests if Eovaldi throws a combined 300 innings in 2023 and 2024.

Adolis Garcia, who helped the Texas Rangers win the World Series in 2023, is dealing with a knee injury at the end of 2024.
