Make no mistake: Joker: Folie à Deux is an atrociously grim and boring movie.

Now and then, a movie comes along and gets right under your skin. It does so effortlessly, creeps in silently, and sinks into your consciousness without you realizing, making you forget you're in the real world.

What I most wanted in “Folie à Deux” was for it to stop playing with the concepts of its characters and instead let them breathe a little more on their own.
