A woman was shot by Plano Police and died on Friday, after reports that she was threatening people. On Friday at around 4:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 4700 block of 14th street, according to a press release from the Plano Police Department.

Plano Police say the armed woman who allegedly threatened to shoot officers became "increasingly erratic" before she was shot.

While a woman and her 4-year-old child were being kidnapped, two men tried to stop it and one of them was stabbed, police said.

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office said they were assisting the Plano Police Department with reports of shots fired just before 7 p.m. Friday on Pratt Street—a residential area in Plano.

Police said the woman’s behavior resulted in a shooting that involved officers. Police did not specify what behavior led to the shooting or say how the woman was wounded. Officers rendered aid to the woman, who was taken to a hospital where she later died. Her identity was not released.
