The Indiana Court of Appeals has reinstated a lawsuit filed by the state accusing TikTok of deceiving its users about the video-sharing platform’s level of inappropriate content for children and the security of its consumers’ personal information.

The Indiana Court of Appeals on Monday reinstated a lawsuit accusing TikTok and Chinese parent company ByteDance of deceiving consumers. Allen Superior Court Judge Jennifer DeGroote dismissed Attorney General Todd Rokita’s lawsuits last November,

The lawsuit, which is comprised of two complaints, argued TikTok engaged in deceptive practices that violated Indiana’s Deceptive Consumer Sales Act (DCSA).

The Indiana Court of Appeals has cleared the way for the attorney general to pursue his claims that the TikTok app runs afoul of the Deceptive Consumer Sales Act.
